Rene Schneider, a daughter of Mary and Richard Schneider of Weston, Conn., was married last evening to David Robert Camsell McGuffin, a son of Lynne and William McGuffin of Ottawa. The Rev. Bernard Camire performed the ceremony at St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church in New York. Mrs. McGuffin, 28, was until recently a reporter on foreign affairs for ''The News Hour With Jim Lehrer'' on public television. She graduated from Boston College. Her father retired as the chief executive of the Pioneer Plastics Corporation in Auburn, Me., a maker of laminates and specialty chemicals.
