Wall Street trader and investor Guy P Wyser-Pratte is locked in legal battle with German engineering giant Babcock Borsig, which is bankrupt, and its former chief executive Klaus G Lederer; Wyser-Pratte filed lawsuit last fall in New York State Supreme Court, accusing Babcock and Lederer of tricking him into investing nearly $20 million in company, based on its acquisition of highly profitable manufacturer of submarines; Babcock sold stake in Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft, or HDW, two months after Wyser-Pratte made his investment; Wyser-Pratte has amended his case to include charges of racketeering; says evidence of scheme to saddle Babcock with bad assets, and strip it of good ones, extended back to 1997; photos (M)
